What is “Math Our Way”?
Historically, education in the United States was only available to white male land owners. This is especially true of more advanced mathematics and sciences, even after education was extended to include females, nonwhites, differently-abled, and the financially poor.
Historically marginalized students are expected to learn in spaces that were not originally meant for us. Educators must recognize this and adjust the environment, curriculum, instruction, and assessment to ensure that all students thrive.
