Quick and Effective Math Practice Routines

Math routines are usually 5 to 15 minutes in length and usually require very little preparation. Of course, introducing your students to the routines may take 30 to 45 minutes the first week or two until they get the hang of it. Math routines can be implemented across all grade levels…yes, even middle, high school, and college. I also use them for professional development with teachers. Math routines can shift mathematical attitudes, identities, and proficiency when implemented in a safe learning environment.
